Chapter 002 (Edmonton Region) AGM Registration
Fill out the linked registration form to RSVP for the Chapter 002 Annual General Meeting or register for Bargaining Updates. The AGM will be held April 17 at 10AM at AUPE Headquarters (see form for full details).
Local 002 Mobilizing Course - This one-day course would look at the things we need to consider when we want to mobilize members for a cause. This would include dialoguing with members to determine the problem and develop strategies; how to launch the actions and campaigns; looking at the communication networks that need to be in place and how to get political meaning how do we take our message to the source.

RBC Canadian Consumer Outlook - The report finds that job anxiety in Alberta has fallen significantly to 28 per cent from 36 per cent, although it remains among the highest levels in the country. Nationally, one-in-five Canadians (21 per cent) say that a member of their household is worried about losing their job or being laid off. With the exception of British Columbia, where job anxiety is unchanged, job anxiety is down across the country. (Jan-04-10)

What's happened to the full-time jobs? asks AFL in wake of latest job figures - It's true that according to the Statistics Canada survey 13,000 jobs were created in Alberta in November. But 12,600 of those jobs were part-time. (Dec-04-09)

The ERC has been working on ways to help members determine if they are in a hostile worksite. This survey is a way you can anonymously pass on information about your worksite. Take the survey and if you think you need help at your site contact a steward, the ERC, or AUPE headquarters.
AUPE's ultimate governing body is the union's annual convention. Each local is entitled to send one delegate for every 100 members to the convention. It's at the convention - which is normally held in Edmonton - that policies are established, budget and operating procedures determined, and officers elected by a vote of the delegates present.
