Local 002 has developed a number of programs for its members. Information about these programs and the forms needed to apply for the programs are found on the following pages.

Successful applicants may be eligible for a scholarship up to $1000.

Educational Events

AUPE Local 002 members wishing to attend affiliate conventions, educational courses and seminars as a representative of AUPE Local 002 must submit an application form to the Education Committee chair at nahosack@shaw.ca within the timeframe listed on the application.

Expense Claims and Advances

Local 002 reimburses its members for allowable expenses incurred while carrying out Local 002 business.

Membership Milestone Awards

AUPE provides pins and certificates to members reaching certain milestones in membership. For example there are pins and certificates for members with 5 (certificate only), 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of membership. These are given out at chapter annual general meetings. If you miss the meeting, you have to contact the appropriate Membership Services Officer to obtain your pin. You can print, fill out, and fax the request form to obtain your pin and certificate.

Volunteer to Become a Union Steward

Fill out the nomination form , sign it and then give the nomination form to a member of your Local/Chapter Executive.  After you are nominated, you will need to take a one-day introductory course before becoming a Level 1 Union Steward.
