  • Building a Culture of Respect: Preventing Harassment and Work Rage -
Negativity can take many forms at work, an especially harmful aspect being bullying, harassment and work rage.  Read more:  Shepell.fgi

  • No Bully For Me - When someone intentionally hurts you, and targets you for different behaviour than the rest of your workgroup, over a long period of time, that is considered workplace bullying.  Targets of bullying at work (‘targets’ is the preferred term; ‘victim’ helps keep you in a bad place) tend to be the best and the brightest, the hard workers who want to make things better, make things right: "if I work harder I will make this situation better."

We tend to stay longer in a bullying workplace and therefore are more damaged before we get out and begin to recover. This Canadian website offers a wealth or information on bullying and provides details on law, research, health effects, and many useful links. Visit: the website.

  • Bullying.org's purpose is to eliminate bullying in our society by supporting individuals and organizations to take positive actions against bullying through the sharing of resources, and to guide and champion them in creating non-violent solutions to the challenges and problems associated with bullying. • The Anonymous Option - When communicating with either the bully about their actions, or with management, it may be suggested to remain anonymous so that you have a greater sense of the outcome without needing to endanger your position.  I'd be curious as to whether this option would work. If you want to try it, here is their website: http://www.anonymousemployee.com/csssite/sidelinks/workplace_bullying.php
